After a day of rain, we were rewarded with a stunning sunset. This took place about 10 minutes after the sun had set below the horizon. This image is straight from the camera with only a spot removal. Levels, white balance, tone curve, have not been modified. It really was this stunning.
Along with my week of rain in Aruba, we had a few severe thunderstorms as well. I've always wanted to capture a lightning bolt, but I didn't have a tripod with me. This is the result of a 20 second hand held exposure. Yes, I know it's terrible, but I got my bolt after 20 minutes of standing next to the hotel window. Oddly enough, the LX-3 seems to take the same amount of time to process an image as the capture time. I.e., after the 20 second exposure, the camera took 20 seconds to process it before I could take the next photo! Very frustrating as I missed many more shots while waiting for the camera!
